How to join your local Christmas Bird Count project

Join us for a day of citizen science by finding, identifying and counting birds in an organized group in specified local areas. Our Shenandoah chapter of Audubon sponsors two local Audubon bird count circles. Please contact the compiler/organizer of each count circle to coordinate where to meet and at what time. Typically, the counts begin at daybreak and may go to sunset or beyond with calling for owls. The amount of time you spend is optional. Prepare with water, snacks, lunch, binoculars, and clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather.
